Shodo - Japanese Calligraphy Workshop Part 4: ”道 - Do : The Way”
”道 - Do” is an important and fundamental word in zen philosophy: it is the way, journey towards the enlightenment within you.
In both Calligraphy and Sumi-e painting, only one brush stroke is allowed for each line, so your mindset reflects directly into the strokes. While you keep practicing repeatedly, you start to discover your inner self, accept yourself, and you will reach a stage where you can totally lose yourself into creation, and become "One" with the Universe.
I would love to introduce the word “道 -Do” ( pronounced as Do-h), in three different expressions in calligraphy with the philosophy behind at this workshop.
